Lack of Emotional Intelligence
While you were wasting time on that mobile application, your emotional intelligence just went down a smidget, if you are a kid at any rate. There was a study released that claims that the longer that a child spends in front of a screen, the worse they can read other's emotions. But the study suggests a possible fix: just a few days of unplugging and
having more face-to-face interactions can boost social skills, the
researchers said. I think that more people in general should limit their screen time and life might just improve tremendously. As wonderful as this technology can be, it is also misused in some aspects. It can be a major time waster and just get in the way of actually getting things done. There are also some studies that point to the fact that the brain processes information better on paper rather than a screen and retains it much better as well. What are thoughts about the direction of the technology and our emotional intelligence?

There needs to be more studies on mobile applications and internet phones before making those types of claims. There is just not enough evidence.
ReplyDeleteEveryone uses mobile applications at some point. In fact I have found them to make me more productive.
ReplyDeleteSoftware development might be evolving more faster than emotional intelligences. I do not think it is just one thing though.
ReplyDeleteNot to mention there are so many different mobile applications that are health oriented. We should use them to our advantage more often.
